In 2022, Swiss DeepTech ventures attracted an impressive €1.5 billion in investments, highlighting the country’s prowess in pushing the boundaries of technology.

ETH Zurich, a global leader in computer science, has been instrumental in nurturing numerous spinouts, with several making our top 10 list.   3. FimmCyte, hailing from Basel, is on a mission to transform women’s health with the first disease-modifying treatment for endometriosis. Born from the collaboration between the University of Zürich and the University Hospital Zürich, FimmCyte has raised €3.2 million to reprogram the immune system for targeted treatment.
  4. Hive, from Geneva, offers a secure and sustainable cloud platform by harnessing unused computing resources. With €7 million in funding, HiveNet empowers users to control their data, promoting a secure digital ecosystem.
  5. Jua, based in Freienbach, utilizes AI and machine learning for energy sector forecasting. With €20 million in funding, Jua’s technology assists in mitigating climate change impacts on energy grids.
  6. Navignostics, from Zürich, employs spatial single-cell proteomics for personalized cancer treatment and diagnostics. With €8.9 million in funding, Navignostics enhances precision diagnostics for cancer patients.
  7. Planetary, located in Geneva, focuses on alternative proteins through fermentation technology. Aiming to disrupt animal mass farming, Planetary raised €10.6 million to expand its sustainable protein production globally.
  8. Swiss-Mile Robotics, a spinoff from ETH Zurich, develops wheeled-legged robots for various industries. With €3.2 million in funding, Swiss-Mile Robotics enhances efficiency with AI-based autonomy.
  9. Terralayr, based in Zug, utilizes software for energy grid-scale storage solutions. Securing €20 million, Terralayr collaborates with companies for long-term power purchase agreements, ensuring project stability.
  10. Voltiris, from Lausanne, provides innovative solutions for greenhouse growers to save energy and improve food system resilience. With €1.7 million in funding, Voltiris collaborates with partners to secure energy prices for growers.
