Copilot pro service, initially rolled out for business clients in November, has quickly expanded to the consumer market. For a monthly fee of $20, Copilot Pro users can leverage advanced features in familiar Office applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. This package also includes priority access to the latest OpenAI models and the unique opportunity to create personalized Copilot GPTs.

If you’re already subscribed to Microsoft 365 Personal or Home, adding Copilot Pro to your plan means immediate access to these AI features across various platforms, including Mac, Windows, and iPad. The Copilot can perform tasks like creating complete PowerPoint presentations from simple prompts, rephrasing text in Word, and summarizing documents. It even extends its functionality to Outlook.com for email assistance and offers a preview version in Excel that can analyze data and craft graphs.

Although the consumer version lacks some capabilities available in the business version, like generating PowerPoint presentations from Word documents, it compensates with other innovative offerings. Besides Office integration, Copilot Pro users gain access to the newest OpenAI models, enhanced image creation tools in Designer, and the ability to construct their own Copilot GPT.

For non-Microsoft 365 subscribers, Copilot Pro still presents an attractive option. It offers priority access to the advanced GPT-4 Turbo within Copilot, promising swifter performance and soon, the ability to switch between different models. The subscription also promises enhancements in image creation using OpenAI’s DALL-E models and the upcoming Copilot GPT Builder, which lets users craft their custom Copilot GPT.

Targeting its most enthusiastic Copilot users, Microsoft’s Copilot Pro aims to satisfy the high demand for rapid access to cutting-edge models, enhanced performance, and creative tools. Divya Kumar, Microsoft’s global head of marketing for search and AI, notes the substantial interest from these power users in these advanced capabilities.

While these features are enticing for power users, full access to Office-related Copilot functionalities requires a Microsoft 365 Personal or Family subscription. Copilot Pro’s features will be available on the web, across Windows and Mac applications, and on mobile platforms. Microsoft plans to continuously update and improve these features, following the pattern of ongoing enhancements seen with Copilot (formerly Bing Chat) over the past year.

Microsoft is also expanding its Copilot for Microsoft 365 service to more businesses, removing the previous 300-seat minimum requirement and offering a $30 per user monthly subscription. This expansion allows a broader range of businesses to leverage these advanced AI tools in their operations. For more detailed information on this, you can explore further here.
