On March 20th, 2024, Brussels became the center of an important meeting for the EmpoWomen Program. This wasn’t just any gathering; it was a crucial step towards helping women lead in the deep-tech startup world. Imagine a room full of people who believe in the power of women to innovate and change the tech industry. That’s what happened when organizations like Sploro, Business Angels Europe, Startup Wise Guys, and TechUkraine came together. They had one goal in mind: to make the next phase of the EmpoWomen Program even better for women in tech.
The EmpoWomen Program is all about giving women the tools they need to shine in deep tech, a field where we need more female voices. From January to March 2024, they looked for women-led startups that could change the world. They got 169 applications from 23 different countries, which is amazing. Now, they’re picking the best 11 startups to join a special 6-month program. This isn’t just any program. It’s packed with training, mentoring, and chances to meet investors ready to support these women’s big ideas.
At the meeting in Brussels, each partner shared what they know best. Sploro talked about innovation, Business Angels Europe discussed money and mentoring, Startup Wise Guys shared tips on growing a startup, and TechUkraine explained how to get the word out to the right people. They were all impressed by the applications they received and excited about the next steps.
The next few months are going to be busy. The partners are working together to plan everything from what the startups will learn to how they can meet investors. They’re also thinking about how to bring even more partners into this effort. It’s all about making sure that women-led startups have what they need to succeed in the deep-tech world.
EmpoWomen’s mission is clear: help women’s startups grow, bring new ideas to life, and make sure the tech world is welcoming to everyone. With this kind of support, the future looks bright for women in deep-tech.
