In the business world, German markets are known for being tough nuts to crack. But some French startups are making waves over there. Take Fizimed, for example – their medical devices are now fully reimbursed in Germany.

Launching a business in a new market is always a huge task, gobbling up time and money. French Tech companies are eyeing Germany – Europe’s economic powerhouse with the largest population – as their next playing field.

French Tech: Innovation for Everyone

French Tech isn’t just about fancy tech. It’s about making everyday life easier. Need a doctor’s appointment? Doctolib’s got you covered. Fancy some second-hand fashion? Check out Vestiaire Collective. Swile lets you pay for lunch with a tap of a card, Blablacar sorts out you rideshare, and Campings.com handles holiday bookings. These services are a hit because they’re made by people who understand everyday needs.

But it’s not all about individual customers. French Tech startups are also helping businesses keep up with the digital world. Skello manages staff schedules, Agicap looks after cash flow, and Ecovadis rates companies on how eco-friendly they are.

Looking Ahead with Innovation

French startups are also tackling tomorrow’s challenges today. Algama is working on alternatives to animal-based products, Accenta is making heating and cooling systems greener, and ROSI Solar is finding ways to recycle solar panel waste.

Choose French Tech for Public Growth

The French government and the French Tech Mission are pushing a new initiative called “I Choose French Tech”. It’s all about getting French innovations into the daily life of people, public services, and businesses.

This initiative is encouraging everyone – from small local businesses to big corporations – to go for French Tech solutions. The goal is to double the use of startup solutions in public and private sectors by 2027.

Committed to a Forward-Thinking Economy

Today’s startups are targeting key economic sectors with clever solutions for a greener future. The French Tech Mission is supporting them to be more responsible, pushing for more diversity and equal gender representation.

Three beliefs are driving this push for an innovative and committed economy:

  1. Speed up the global ecological shift. The French Tech Mission is helping startups get there, offering tools to embrace these changes as opportunities, not obstacles.
  2. Build an inclusive future. French Tech wants to lead by example, showing that diversity is a strength, especially through the French Tech Tremplin program.
  3. Improve gender balance in tech. French Tech believes startups can and should lead the way in fairer practices, like having equal gender representation on company boards and job ads that appeal to all genders.

French Tech Tremplin: Opportunities for Everyone

The French ecosystem doesn’t yet reflect the true diversity and potential of the population. That’s why French Tech kicked off the French Tech Tremplin program in 2019. It’s aimed at people who are far from the entrepreneurial world, held back by socioeconomic barriers. The program helps budding entrepreneurs create and grow their startups, offering them essential tools for success.

Run locally by French Tech Capitals across the country, the program won the European Enterprise Promotion Award in 2022 for responsible and inclusive entrepreneurship.
